We'll miss you Mark Roydhouse!
it’s with deep regret that I announce another great loss for field hockey. On March 12, 2016 Mark Roydhouse passed away. He was a great team mate, coach, player and friend. I know the many teams and tours I’ve been on with Mark would never have been as memorable without his laughter, his off colour humor and amazing speeches after games with hosting clubs. My fondest memories include winning gold medals with the BC men’s team, travelling to New Zealand with the Bc team and winning the league championships as a joker.
He provided laughter, but was always a tough competitor on the field. His contribution to field hockey has been huge over the years and I can say I’m a better person for having known him. Our thoughts go out to Chris, his sister and mom.
His celebration of life will be on Friday March 18, 2016 at 6.30pm at his favourite stomping ground – the Vancouver Rowing Club (450 Stanley Park Dr, Vancouver, BC V6G 3E2)
The entire BC field hockey community’s prayers go out to the Roydhouse family at this time.
