Masters Hockey Social March 26th!

Posted by Falcons Field Hockey Club - Delta, Ladner, Tsawwassen on Mar 19 2016 at 10:49PM PDT

Dear Fellow Masters Hockeyers,

Just a reminder of the informal wrap-up of the 2015-2016 League Season with a friendly Masters Hockey Match being arranged as follows:

SATURDAY 26 MARCH 2016 (Easter Saturday) from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. at TAMANAWIS

This is not a formal match between two club teams; just a “friendly” with balanced teams selected on the day from players in attendance, with the format of the game (whether 11-a-side or cross-pitch mimi-hockey) dependent on numbers present.

Please pass this notice on to those teams within your club which have Masters players in their ranks.

Al McBeth and Guy Manwaring, I know you’ll be gone by Easter Saturday; however, could you please forward this message on to Masters members of your club for their information. All the very best to you both, and all the Canadian Over-50 team, at the 2016 IMHA World Cup tournament in Canberra.

Many thanks!
John McB..

The notice as circulated towards the end of February is appended below FYI.

This event is a follow-up to the successful 2015 Easter Saturday event which attracted 25 local masters hockey players and led directly to the entry, a year later, of a Canadian Team in the Over-50 Division of the 2016 International Masters Hockey Association World Cup Tournament in Canberra which starts at the end of next month.

We wish the members of the Canadian Over-50 Team best of luck in Australia. Whilst these players will be unable to participate in this year’s Easter event, here is an opportunity for all local masters hockey players who are available on Easter Saturday afternoon to play enjoyable hockey. The event has multiple objectives:

A happy conclusion to the 2015-2016 League season;
To gather together players who wish to pursue the concept of Masters Hockey at whatever level they may choose to participate in the spectrum from local to international;
To enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded players who wish to continue their hockey activities amongst the cohort of their contemporaries.
